The ti plant that inspired this painting grows at the Grand Wailea, one of Maui's most iconic resorts, and when Erin Sabado first saw it, he knew he had to put it on canvas. There was something about the brilliance of it, the way it caught the light and seemed to belong exactly where it stood, that stopped him in his tracks.
